Formerly known as the “City of Millionaires,” today Piedmont is regarded as the “Mayberry” of the area. Home to roughly eleven thousand residents, Piedmont comprises two square miles in the East Bay Hills and encompasses several noteworthy neighborhoods from which prospective homebuyers will be pleased to choose.

Among Piedmont’s neighborhoods most popular address is City Center. City Center is home to one of Piedmont’s main thoroughfares, Oakland Avenue, which runs from the neighborhood south into Oakland. Other transportation arteries in the city include Grand Avenue, which runs along the western border; Moraga Avenue, which runs near the northern border; and Highland Avenue, which cuts the city into upper and lower halves. While Piedmont is primarily residential in nature, the density of City Center categorizes it as an urban neighborhood. Residents of City Center and Piedmont in general do most of their shopping and dining in nearby Rockridge, Montclair, and Park Boulevard.
